Leila was educated as a costume designer for both theatre and films, she studied this at the University of Supplied Arts in Vienna, Austria.

She was very interested in ethnographic costume lent this made her decision to make her diploma about the Kiowa-indians’legends.
After she graduated, she worked in different theatres in Finland for several years.
